Ka Sur Mynsiem

Here's me 👋 🥐
Hi, I'm Shailin H. Lyngdoh. And these are my thoughts: "Ka Sur Mynsiem" is a Khasi expression from the Khasi language, spoken by the Khasi people of Meghalaya.
Ka means a woman—the feminine spirit. Sur means "voice," and Mynsiem means "soul." Together, Ka Sur Mynsiem translates to "The Voice of the Soul." In Khasi, objects are assigned either a masculine or a feminine gender. Voice falls under the feminine gender. Ka Sur—and the prefix Ka itself—embodies the power of the feminine essence.
Further research led me to ancient Egypt, where the concept of the vital essence, or spirit, is known as Ka. In this cultural context, Ka refers to the life force—the difference between the living and the dead.
It is a love letter to life, capturing every tiny, beautiful detail, including the messy, tender, and unfiltered moments that make life real.
